Sub-assembly and plastic parts

The plastic assembly transform the thermoformed parts into functional sub-assemblies thanks to essential finishing processes such as gluing, welding, cutting, fitting accessories, and integrating complementary components.

What does plastic assembly entail for your industrial project?

Once the parts have been produced via thin or thick gauge thermoforming, they are assembled to form simple or complex sub-assemblies.

During the phase of’plastic assembly the raw thermoformed parts are transformed into finished products and functional sub-assemblies. It is during this phase that the aesthetic finish and the Formatting of parts are carried out. In order for the pieces to integrate as well as possible into their final environment of use, invisible fixings and reinforcements are also applied. RBL Plastiques has a dedicated 1,000 m² workshop for this stage, equipped with precision assembly stations. (collage, vissage, sertissage, soudure par ultrasons) and dedicated areas for folding, finishing and decoration. The finishes and assembly are checked at each stage to ensure Sub-assembly conformity.

The 5 key steps of the plastic assembly process

1 - Preparation of components

The first stage of assembly involves preparing all the necessary parts and components. Thermoformed parts from production are visually and dimensionally inspected.

The complementary elements (metal parts, inserts, fixings, decorative panels) are themselves sorted, prepared, and identified in accordance with the defined nomenclatures and assemblies.

2 - Assembly of sets

The specialised operators then carry out the’plastic assembly according to the defined ranges. This includes the industrial collage, the ultrasonic welding, the installation of inserts, the integration of accessories, aesthetic cladding and mechanical assembly.

This step transforms the raw thermoformed parts into technical sub-assemblies, robust and ready for use.

3 - Finishes and intermediate checks

The operations of complementary cutting, drilling, deburring, polishing, bending or decoration are carried out according to the defined technical specifications. Intermediate checks are performed to verify fit, surface appearance, dimensional conformity, and aesthetic consistency.

4 - Final quality control

Each subset is then subjected to a Plastic quality control In-depth: critical dimensions, assembly stability, visual quality, joint reliability, functional zone compliance.

This final check ensures the product perfectly meets your requirements.

5 - Packaging and shipping preparation

Once validated, the finished products are packaged According to the client's instructions bulk packaging, surface protection, scratch-resistant covers, personalised labelling. The batches are then transferred to the logistics area for dispatch.
